How to: Disable a mouse driver.
Solution:
Disable the mouse driver using Device Manager.
1) Display the 'Device Manager' dialog box:
2) Click the plus sign next to the hardware type (i.e., Mouse) and then double-click the specific hardware item (i.e., Standard Serial Mouse). (A 'Properties' dialog box for the device appears.)
3) If the 'Device usage' check box is selected, in the 'Device usage' group, clear it.

NOTE: If there is more than one configuration listed in the 'Device usage' group, clear the check boxes next to each configuration for which you want to disable the device (i.e., Mouse).
TIP: The device will be disabled, but the resource settings may not be freed unless you have Plug and Play hardware.
4) (Optional) To free the resource settings used by this device:
a) Display the 'Device Manager' dialog box:
b) In the 'View devices by type' list box, click the plus sign next to the type of hardware and then click the device that is disabled
c) Click 'Remove' and then click 'OK'.
d) Click the 'Start' button and then select 'Shut Down...'. (The 'Shut Down Windows' dialog box appears.)

e) Select the 'Shut down the computer' radio button and click 'OK'. (When the message appears saying it is safe to do so, turn off and unplug the computer and then remove the card for the device from the slot inside the computer.)
NOTE: If this device is a Plug and Play device, resources are freed automatically when you disable or remove a device. To see if resources are freed after a device is disabled BUT BEFORE removing the device, double-click the device in the hardware list in the 'Device Manager' dialog box and then select the 'Resources' tab.
